🔥 👠 #kickoff #2018 off with a banger!

NEW YORK, NY - Friday, January 19, 2018 - Gramercy production duo S.C.R.D. released their highly anticipated, club-crossover jam, titled “Saturday Right,” featuring Sweet Chuck and A$ton Dollar$ trading bars on verses and hooks.

This hypnotic, melodic and catchy composition is tightly crafted by DJ Journey, with lowend support from American Jazz Bassist, James Genus (SNL/Herbie Hancock) who once again delivers his signature groovelines. Meanwhile, the whimsical rhythmic riffs of Daniel Picciotto’s Gibson guitar, playfully dance along the topline in the background. Both tease the melody and then prominently strut across the bridge before sweeping listeners back into a final chorus and breakdown.

This single release is the first collaboration between S.C.R.D. and A$ton Dollar$ who originally met after multiple back to back studio sessions over the past couple of years. Producer/Engineer Rich Ahee (Shelter Island Sound) was the common denominator and mutual engineer between the two groups.  Eventually dots were linked and everyone came together to make this record.

While the record was conceived, written and recorded over a couple of days at Shelter Island Studio on April, 20th, 2016, the final record was actually mixed months later at Lounge Studios / Vanilla Sky, and didn’t get mastered until late last 2017 by Mikaelin ‘Blue’ BlueSpruce.

"From then, until now, many things have happened in our worlds’ and the world around us. And we’re just blessed to be able to make music that makes people feel something, and in this case it’s a warm, loving, family and friends vibe ‘n good times. Especially after last year, and just in time for the Spring and Summer!" - S.C.R.D.

Saturday Right is available across global retailers Amazon, Google Play, and across streaming platforms Apple Music, Spotify and Tidal.  Saturday Right is a Hip Hop genre, danceable track that grooves at 105 BPM, with remixes expected during spring and summer, be released by Flourish$Prosper Music Group.

Passion that you yourself can feel when you sit back and actually listen, no do not listen HEAR what he is trying to portray.

The determination from this twenty five year old will shock you. The consistent hits, which pour from his mind is “remarkable” The way he portrays himself as a true Artist. Aston gets the party started wherever he is at. Today, at age 31, Marlon’s passion continues to grow as he spends his free time in the studio recording and producing songs such as What's My Name, Stripper Pole (SP.1) and Stripper Pole 2 (SP.2), in preparation for his upcoming album.

THE DIRTIER THE WHINE, THE SWEETER THE JUICE!?

Friday, December 15, 2017 - Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn, NY - Young MG Louis VIV, aka KingSaySay, Bedford-Stuyvesant born artist, rapper and emcee released his first official single record titled, "Dirty Whine" on iTunes, Apple Music, Google Play, Amazon Music and Spotify. This Dancehall inspired Hip Hop track features local artist Anna Awe on the hook and S.C.R.D.'s Ravin Dave on composition and production.

Young MG - Dirty Whine (Ft. Anna Awe) [Prod. by Ravin Dave]

The topic of this record, one considered highly sensitive, misogynistic and sexist by some listeners, is actually a dichotic reflection of the current environment. One the artist is living himself. Perhaps a case of greater good versus lesser evil, or rather just plain ego. Regardless, the sonic composition, lyrics and subject matter seem to divide audiences stuck on the fence of robbing peter in order to pay paul.

Young MG - Dirty Whine (Ft. Anna Awe) [Prod. by Ravin Dave]

Young MG, one of Brooklyn's many eighties baby's on the cusp of the 90's was born into Hip Hop music's golden years, which explains his study, articulation and knowledge of the genre. And his story, not unlike some of those who preceded him may sound familiar. At the young age of twelve, Young MG and his brother were forced out on the streets. The last decade and a half have been a struggle with far and few opportunities to follow his dreams, share a story or stay out of trouble.

Debut performance of Hard Days Cold Nights by Young MG during The NYLON Project Launch event for New York Fashion Week 2017, in order to raise awareness about homelessness in New York City.

In early February, 2017, Young MG secured a live performance spot in an upscale fundraiser, for The Nylon Project, who intention is to help bring awareness to homelessness. A press article on the event and cause written by, Hilary George-Parkin, of racked.com caught up with Young MG following his performance and shared this:

Young MG’s struggles aren’t quite behind him yet; I talk to him at the end of the night, after the last performer has packed up and the DJ is entreating the dwindling crowd to dance to a steady stream of Chris Brown and Bruno Mars. He wears a yellow hoodie and sweatpants and a backwards Yankees fitted. “I pulled up to show some love for the homeless people, because I too went through the homelessness and I'm still facing it,” he says.

I have felonies, I'm a project kid, I've lived a hard life,” he explains, about three inches from my ear so I can hear over the music. “It's not my fault, it's the cards that I was dealt. But if you don't have a job, then it's hard to take care of yourself, to provide, to live your dreams. Everything costs money, and nobody's going to give it to you. You have to pay to get your way up, and then people will help you up.”

At some point, I realize it’s the first story of homelessness I’ve heard all night. A minute later, though, he’s moved on. “Look me up on Facebook,” he says, and when I do, I see a few dozen photos and videos from the night — selfies, videos, shot after shot of Milian, and the requisite red carpet photos, though this time, without a cardboard sign in sight.

Since then, Young MG has been hard at work in the studio writing, rehearsing and performing a combination of new material, freestyles and remixes. In 2016, Young MG linked with S.C.R.D., the production crew out of Gramercy Park, in Manhattan, currently signed under Trip Digital, Inc. The unlikely combination took months to build trust and loyalty, and then eventually net out in original beats, compositions and songs that stemmed from the combination of different worlds, and walks of life.

Bedstuy Rapper Young MG Louis XIV got the public's attention with this Jay-Z, PSA Remix. Look out for Young MG's first official single release called "Dirty Whine" (Ft. Anna Awe) [Prod. by Ravin Dave] dropping this December, 2017.

Bed-Stuy, has been made known most notably in music, specifically Hip Hop, over the past quarter century by Biggie (The Notorious BIG), along with the likes of Jay-Z (Marcy Projects), Fabolous (Brevoort Houses) Mos Def (Lafayette Gardens) Maino (Nostrand and Gates), Smif-n-Wessun (Brownsville Houses), Lil Kim (Lafayette Ave), and many others. More recently, Bed-Stuy is one of Brooklyn's fastest, "up-and-coming" neighborhoods, falling victim to the gentrifying sweep of ridding the old, and paving the way for the new.

“Take these hard times as lessons and keep going”

Mame - Hope

TOKYO, JAPAN - On Friday, August 11, 2017 - Japanese rapper and songwriter Mame officially releases “HOPE” as a short film and audio single, under Flourish$Prosper with distribution through Empi.re. HOPE is available across download outlets including iTunesGoogle Play and Amazon, and streaming platforms including Spotify, Apple Music and Tidal. Available via pre-order on August 4, 2017.

Born in 1990, and at the age of twenty, Mame left Japan in order to pursue his dream and went to study at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York. During that time his father became ill. Upon the worsening of his father’s condition, Mame returned home to help take care of him and his family.

“Life was in extremes, up and down when I was pursuing a career as a fashion designer. I was emotionally fucked up, living alone, and trying to reach where I thought I wanted to go.  Life wasn't easy, then I turned back to my country because of my father's illness. At that moment, I definitely hit the rock bottom leaving everything in New York, I had to start a new life. That was hard, and by taking the hard times as lessons, I kept going. That's how I felt when I could be on next level.
The experience made me realize my true passion and deeper dream in music and entertainment. Since then, I have transitioned from fashion designer to artist and have been working on lyrics and production, combining Tokyo flows with New York sounds in collaboration with super producer Dj Journey / Trip Digital Inc. Hope is the first song and music video of my struggles, and is what helped get me through them to now."

The NYLON Project & Aspiring Artists

Through adversity and struggle, while growing up young in the streets of Brooklyn, YOUNG MG, has developed the raw charisma, character and fortitude to survive. He has also become what's known in Hip Hop culture as the ever elusive "wordsmith," one who is a verbal poet, and know's it. But these days in the city who birthed the original art and culture, the sound is hard to find. Fortunately, meet YOUNG MG, one of few local and talented artists, on verge of bringing the "true" New York Hip Hop sound back.

“I’m a Brooklyn kid that got kicked out at a young age, forced to take on the streets for survival. My mother put me out at the age of twelve to face a hard life. I tried to go from home to home to escape a life of poverty. Just trying to come up, through the streets, I’ve been to jail, homeless, sleeping on trains and subways. I know have a bright future, with better things coming my way. I’m on the verge of making it really big. #itcanbeyou

“As an artist, I understand sacrifice, passion and commitment to the arts and commerce. In my short eight years living in New York City, I’ve also come to understand being evicted, sued, frisked, fined, fired and kicked-out. But that's really nothing compared to what many artist before or during my time endured. Therefore my overstanding not through living, is just an understanding, which can only be told through the stories of those who came before me and whom I am currently living among. Just like living in New York City, nothing ever is, what it really is, until you have lived it, and actually been there in it. In the end, I just make make music, and like to help others do the same. The summer block party led to a collaboration, and then we recorded the first record. #itcanbeyou"

The initial goal of this project is to give out 1,500 meals starting on December 1st, 2016 up until February 7th, 2017. Each person who receives a meal, will tell us their story of how they wound up on the streets and this will be shared via an IG page which will entice everyone who gives a meal to start sharing their stories with us and with this, creating a community of people helping people.

The NYLON Project will culminate with a New York Fashion Week show on February 7th, 2017, where the 25 influencers and celebrities who were part of the photo-shoot for booklet, will walk the runway side by side with their sponsored homeless partners whose story they shared, wearing sponsored brands. These brands will dress the celebrity as well as gift the homeless the ensemble so that they can use it once event is over, to go on a job interview and get off the streets.

Celebrities, Influencers and a showcase for performing talent including the musical group FAULKNER, with over 2 million youtube hits on their most recent release; Che'Nelle, Japan iTunes 10 straight weeks #1 performing artist; Grandison M. Someday” is not just a story about heartbreak and rebound, musically it’s a journey of collaboration between a bunch of characters seeking to make cool shit and have fun.

Sweet Chuck and Ravin Dave met locally in Gramercy, Manhattan two years ago. After months of epic adventures and thousands of hours in the studio, the duo managed to convince a team of extremely talented musicians, producers and engineers to join in on their collaborative tale.

One notable featured artist on the record is Marissa Licata, an internationally renowned violinist who has performed with Alicia Keys, Ben Harper, Ringo Starr, Dave Stewart of Eurythmics, Gloria Estefan, Pras of the Fugees, Jermaine Paul, Elle Varner, Gaby Wilson, and many more. On Someday, Ms. Licata’s violin plays the role of the narrator helping to bring listeners through the various emotions as the story is being told.

Another very notable featured artist on the record is top American Jazz musician, James Genus. Mr. Genus’ bassline is a perfectly rolling, sexy foundation that nails down the groove in the record. Rightfully so.. James has built his bassist career over the past 25 years and has performed with many greats including Branford Marsalis, Chick Corea, Dave Douglas, Uri Caine, Global Theory, Ravi Coltrane, Bill Evans, Herbie Hancock, and Daft Punk.

S.C.R.D. notes that, “our passion is live music, and so from the start we wanted to be sure that we recorded as much live instrumentation as possible. Besides overall tonal quality, we believe that live performances will also be higher quality if the song was written with “real” instruments from the start. The quality of our stories rely on real instruments played by talented musicians that actually bring certain characters to life via a recorded performance. It’s deeper than just playing the notes. This is the difference.

scrdlive

The whole project is an experiment that started out of random, serendipitous happenstance meeting design. But then organically flourished into something with potential commercial viability over the past six months. We recognize that this could last 3 mins or 30 years. What matters is that we are going for something that stems from fun, friends and passion. Now we’re testing it to see if it can become a sustainable independent artistic career path - remarks S.C.R.D.

To date, S.C.R.D. have already performed on the legendary Webster Hall main stage just over a week ago accompanied by Marissa Licata and 187 Sound demonstrating solid potential to a suspect crowd. With confidence and personality they delivered a live performance of “Someday” (which was still in the final stages of recording that week). “It was like dressing up your two-year old and entering her into a pageant. Thankfully it went well, but now we are focused on this release and then the video planned for mid-summer,” notes S.C.R.D.

For a sneak-peak preview of the upcoming release Someday, S.C.R.D. is guest hosting #MassivelyEpic Radio on RAPstation.com this Tuesday (6/23) and next (6/30) from 9-10p EST.
