S.C.R.D. - Feels Like (Official Video) is that uncanny, slightly awkward moment, your roommate, sibling, parent, friend, lover or neighbor walks in on you while dancing by yourself, in headphones, in a common area, like a bodega or c-store.
This new S.C.R.D. record is a break from their norm, a step left into the electronic medium in collaboration with DJ Journey & LA Fashion Photographer, Catherine Asanov, who recently stated, "I still don't get it." Nonetheless, her collaborators are pumped and excited for this release.
"Even though we just dropped an album "The Adventures Of" in December, which is doing great on Spotify and iTunes, we felt it was necessary to keep the momentum going with a release every month. We've subtly hinted at electronic sounds on our record "Legal Weed," which features soloed synths singing like voices for an entire instrumental single and album joint.
Besides, the sound has shifted. Honestly, the hottest sounds today are like what we used to make in our bedroom back in 2013-2014. Super lo-fi, good production, but not much movement or depth, sonically, even though playlist curators are so "in-tune" with this new sound. We don't really like to follow trends. We know what's good and cool, but we kinda just do our own thing. Love it, hate it, honestly, we appreciate either which every way you want to judge it.
Regardless, we write for history, eternity, and contemporary entertainment, education, and documentary purposes. Some people call what we do a borderline parody. In these times, we all need something to laugh at, seriously. We think that everyone is taking themselves too seriously. We like to have fun, and want to bring that back, to help bring us all together. Just dance.
Los Angeles, California – December 25, 2020 – To say that the past year has been hard is an understatement. The pandemic managed to bring the whole world to a stand-still. At a time so bleak, artists pushed through to create and express in different mediums. S.C.R.D. is the perfect example of an artist who used a bleak situation to make a silver lining.
In a bid to help the world forget about 2020 and its disasters, the artists S.C.R.D. have put together an album, “The Adventures Of,” that has been five years in the making. A collection of talented and accomplished artists and collaborators used their environment and society as inspiration for the stories they tell in this album.
“The Adventures Of” is an album full of short stories in song format. The 14 tracks on the album represent fourteen different stories. When combined, the stories encompass the essence of the last five years and the socio-political climate that has persisted.
In short, the album tracks the changes in society, the artists’ own psychological mindset, and emotional changes. The perspectives of the artists have been distilled into fourteen short stories in musical form.
The release party for “The Adventures Of” is going to be different as it is happening via live stream. The virtual album release party is taking place at 9 pm E.S.T. on December 25, 2020, on the streaming platform Twitch. The virtual party ensures that people from all over the world are available to attend the party and hopefully forget about the year gone by for a little while.

S.C.R.D. is comprised of duo Sweet Chuck and Ravin Dave, whom the group is named after. They produce and release music under the independent label Trip Digital Music. While originally written and recorded between 2016-2018, we waited until the landscape was ripe and the context made sense for a record like this. This record is actually the third of a four record series that culminates next month but began on November 3 2016 with “Breaking News”, our first "‘political’ record, although written at the time from an independent, large picture perspective.
The second record of the series was “Art Bless America” which when written (2016) and released (2019) stood as a reminder of America’s greatness to an outsider. The video (2020), however, shifts lenses drawing a clear distinction between racism, oppression, resistance, and tyranny as captured through live footage over the spring and summer. Notwithstanding our original intent, this body of works was written before its time, in order to reflect these times.
Mosh Pit which was also written in the past, for the future, could not be published without comment on the current cultural context into which it would be released. As a group, we clearly stand against racism. For our promotion video, we decided to make that point clear. For the lyric video, we decided to let the lyrics speak for themselves.

From the outside looking in, our country is one the world looks to as a perfect model. Men and women have built fortunes for themselves. Apple, Google, Amazon, Microsoft, and Facebook, are all trillion-dollar companies. This is what our friends around the world call the “American Dream.”
Yet, the skeletons of racism fall out of our closet every now and then. A police beating here and a biased comment there. Sweep it under the rug real quick to protect the image. I think everyone knows our past in America, but it doesn’t matter because so much greatness has come from this country. It doesn’t really matter until it matters. Now the world hears the echoes of “BLACK LIVES MATTER!”
And our friends in London say “Hell yeah, they matter! Because you gave us Hip Hop!” “Art Bless America” symbolizes the culture in America that the world respects.
“The only free nation built on creation focused on transformation for the young minds can be equal. In other words, we do this for the people.”

The world is watching America fight for something they thought we already had, equality. ORANGE COUNTY, CA – Since the start of the year, LuMm came out the gates swinging with the release of his singles (Spotify) “JENGA, NOSEBLEEDS, and BLACK MAGIC (Ft. HIPPIE-C). Back in 2009, while working as an intern for Rocafella Records, Nick Hews met Derik Lavers who had just finished Season 8 of American Idol. After becoming friends and a couple of small bedroom production projects, they both moved to LA, met DJ Journey and formed the Klick by 2015. Between December 9-10, 2015 the duo wrote and recorded Summertime at the legendary Skip Saylor Recording studio in Ensino, CA, with engineer Lester Mendoza.

NEW YORK, NY - On Friday, May 11, 2018 - Brooklyn made, Queens saved Hip Hop artist DEV released his second studio single, “Games,” the first single to drop from his forthcoming album titled Arrogant Youth, expected later this year. Arrogant Youth is a project based on years of writing, rapping and learning the art and game. It’s a reflection on the current Hip Hop landscape from an educated perspective. Artist, actor and security guard at one of Manhattan’s most prestigious hotels and nightlife hub, DEV spends his days writing and recording records based on his reflections of interactions with so many different types of people, and his own upbringing and studies of Hip Hop, while growing up in New York City. The record HUSH is about not listening to the hype or the haters, that often talk in your ear and on social media. Kris Payne’s lyrics, flow and delivery are all a reflection on the senseless chatter and hate. Kris Payne is not your average rapper. His flow and lyrics will take you back in time, while his smooth, raw vocal delivery is poetic and wistfully visual. Kris often draws comparisons to the likes of the Notorious BIG, LL Cool J and Dr. Dre, which considering his childhood upbringing, and being a Leo with the same birthday as Chuck D and Professor Griff, may be an indication. Payne grew up in Brooklyn, and then moved out to Baldwin, Long Island for high school.
Kris worked his way into regular rotation on BET’s 106 & Park and then found himself in a cipher with Run DMC. Payne drew the attention of Public Enemy’s Chuck D and The Bomb Squad super producer Keith Shocklee, both local Roosevelt, Long Island natives. Kris invested the past five years into building trust, which led to his mentorship from Hip Hop legends and eventually projects with Common and Rakim. Most importantly, Kris made the transition from playground battle rapper to recording artist now is now poised to set the stage on fire.

On June, 30th of 2015, we release our first single record, Someday. It took only a couple of months to write, record, produce, mix and master. Just starting out we had little choice but to self publish through either Tunecore or CD Baby. We chose Tunecore, and subsequently released four more since then till now, while working on finishing our first albums worth. Fast forward to 2018, and since then, we've secured a distribution deal in partnership with Flourish$Prosper Music Group, with distribution through Empi.re. In addition, we now also distribute sound packs designed for producers by Trip Digital artists, through Sounds.com, a Native Instruments powered "sample" site.
As a result, we've taken a new perspective on releasing music and are beta testing this new approach. Someday is a simple, old school, Hip Hop style record that features a number of recording artists who actually play live across the tracks and has multiple writers. In addition to accessing new distribution methods we decided to re-release this song in an unorthodox way, not using Tunecore. Instead, we leveraged our resources and access, in order to distribute over 109 different pieces, all monetizable units of content.
Here's the approach:
Through Stems.is we re-released the original release as a single with three tracks the album version, the radio version and the instrumental version. The net difference versus Tunecore was that this release cost us $49.99 less, 5% of net sound recording and publishing that results. Furthermore, Stems.is manages the distribution of royalties and publishing payments to each of the owners, writers and authors. As a result, Someday is available on Apple Music, iTunes, Spotify, Google Play, Amazon Music, Deezer, and YouTube.
But then we took it a step further, and released our stems to the record as an EP by renaming the record as a "Remix Kit" and targeting producers, remixers and djs. The Someday (82 BPM KEY F) [REMIX KIT] features two vocal acapella, bass, piano, violin and drum stems, also available on Apple Music, iTunes, Google Play, Amazon Music, Deezer, and YouTube.
For the trifecta, we also released a 99 sound sample pack on Sounds.com as a "Producer Pack" that feature cuts of original drums, piano, violin and bass. The violin samples feature performing artist Marissa Licata (The Fugees, Alicia Keys, Wyclef) and the bass guitar samples feature James Genus (Herbie Hancock, SNL Band). Each sample is a high-resolution slice from the final studio mix, pre-mastered.
NEW YORK, NY - Friday, January 19, 2018 - Gramercy production duo S.C.R.D. released their highly anticipated, club-crossover jam, titled “Saturday Right,” featuring Sweet Chuck and A$ton Dollar$ trading bars on verses and hooks.
This hypnotic, melodic and catchy composition is tightly crafted by DJ Journey, with lowend support from American Jazz Bassist, James Genus (SNL/Herbie Hancock) who once again delivers his signature groovelines. Meanwhile, the whimsical rhythmic riffs of Daniel Picciotto’s Gibson guitar, playfully dance along the topline in the background. Both tease the melody and then prominently strut across the bridge before sweeping listeners back into a final chorus and breakdown.
This single release is the first collaboration between S.C.R.D. and A$ton Dollar$ who originally met after multiple back to back studio sessions over the past couple of years. Producer/Engineer Rich Ahee (Shelter Island Sound) was the common denominator and mutual engineer between the two groups. Eventually dots were linked and everyone came together to make this record.
While the record was conceived, written and recorded over a couple of days at Shelter Island Studio on April, 20th, 2016, the final record was actually mixed months later at Lounge Studios / Vanilla Sky, and didn’t get mastered until late last 2017 by Mikaelin ‘Blue’ BlueSpruce.

Marlon Beaudouin (born July 17, 1986) better known by his stage name Young Aston/Aston Dollars, is an aspiring American Rap/R&B artist. Marlon was born to Haitian parents and raised in Hillside, Queens, N.Y. His first introduction to music was through piano instructions as a child. He also participated in musical activities at his church and school. In junior high school, he began writing his own music producing songs. During this time, Marlon was introduced to different artist in the business that inspired him and guided him into improving his musical projects.
Jeremy Gonzalez, aka “The Jerm”, introduced Marlon to different beats and techniques for improving his sound. James Williams, an old school producer, taught Marlon how to use words to add meaning and taste to his work. Aston has a very authentic way to his rhyming & singing. He is very versatile with concepts when it comes to his lyrics. Not only are his lyrics spectacular in the fact they are deep and at some points make you question facts about your own life, but also the fact he is obligated to getting his thoughts on paper shows his passion for the music. Passion that you yourself can feel when you sit back and actually listen, no do not listen HEAR what he is trying to portray.

Friday, December 15, 2017 - Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn, NY - Young MG Louis VIV, aka KingSaySay, Bedford-Stuyvesant born artist, rapper and emcee released his first official single record titled, "Dirty Whine" on iTunes, Apple Music, Google Play, Amazon Music and Spotify. This Dancehall inspired Hip Hop track features local artist Anna Awe on the hook and S.C.R.D.'s Ravin Dave on composition and production.
The topic of this record, one considered highly sensitive, misogynistic and sexist by some listeners, is actually a dichotic reflection of the current environment. One the artist is living himself. Perhaps a case of greater good versus lesser evil, or rather just plain ego. Regardless, the sonic composition, lyrics and subject matter seem to divide audiences stuck on the fence of robbing peter in order to pay paul.
Young MG, one of Brooklyn's many eighties baby's on the cusp of the 90's was born into Hip Hop music's golden years, which explains his study, articulation and knowledge of the genre. And his story, not unlike some of those who preceded him may sound familiar. At the young age of twelve, Young MG and his brother were forced out on the streets. The last decade and a half have been a struggle with far and few opportunities to follow his dreams, share a story or stay out of trouble.

In early February, 2017, Young MG secured a live performance spot in an upscale fundraiser, for The Nylon Project, who intention is to help bring awareness to homelessness. A press article on the event and cause written by, Hilary George-Parkin, of racked.com caught up with Young MG following his performance and shared this:
“Young MG’s struggles aren’t quite behind him yet; I talk to him at the end of the night, after the last performer has packed up and the DJ is entreating the dwindling crowd to dance to a steady stream of Chris Brown and Bruno Mars. He wears a yellow hoodie and sweatpants and a backwards Yankees fitted. “I pulled up to show some love for the homeless people, because I too went through the homelessness and I'm still facing it,” he says.
I have felonies, I'm a project kid, I've lived a hard life,” he explains, about three inches from my ear so I can hear over the music. “It's not my fault, it's the cards that I was dealt. But if you don't have a job, then it's hard to take care of yourself, to provide, to live your dreams. Everything costs money, and nobody's going to give it to you. You have to pay to get your way up, and then people will help you up.”
At some point, I realize it’s the first story of homelessness I’ve heard all night. A minute later, though, he’s moved on. “Look me up on Facebook,” he says, and when I do, I see a few dozen photos and videos from the night — selfies, videos, shot after shot of Milian, and the requisite red carpet photos, though this time, without a cardboard sign in sight.
Since then, Young MG has been hard at work in the studio writing, rehearsing and performing a combination of new material, freestyles and remixes. In 2016, Young MG linked with S.C.R.D., the production crew out of Gramercy Park, in Manhattan, currently signed under Trip Digital, Inc. The unlikely combination took months to build trust and loyalty, and then eventually net out in original beats, compositions and songs that stemmed from the combination of different worlds, and walks of life.

King Myers’ track record reveals no shortage of previous projects that resulted in “King-like” outcomes for the artist. In february of 2017, King successfully pulled off one of hip-hop's greatest publicity stunts. He tricked the media into believing that he was a new signee to Kanye West's G.O.O.D. Music record label, to release his Donald Trump diss track "propaganda" in which he credited Kanye West as the producer. This caused king to be featured and mentioned on major media outlets like cnn, fox news, tmz, xxl magazine, and hiphopdx.

Set to a modern 90’s style beat, produced by Dj Journey, listeners are nostalgically reminded of not only of the storytelling qualities found in old school, but also perhaps, of an old relationship where after they felt the same as Khzzari does, expressed in his 32 bars of sentiment.
Originally from Newark, New Jersey and after growing up in Orlando, Florida, Khzzari is now based in Orange County. He began writing poetry in middle school, which led him into music in high school. Influenced by his father’s Detroit upbringing and the soulful sounds of Motown, combined with influence from his mother’s Puerto Rican descent, Khzzari pulls from the best of both worlds, and remains rooted in the Hip Hop sounds he grew up on in the early 2000’s. In his most recent interview on Trip Digital Live, Khzzari explains that,
“As I was growing up I realized that music is poetry, but with rhythm, and music is global. I figured that I could use that to get my message out there.”

Dev & Nick Hews - Done That (Feat. Dj Journey) is the first studio single of a series, in collaboration with production partner Trip Digital, founder Dj Journey and executive production duo S.C.R.D.. The melodic, uptempo, New York style beat lends itself well to the writing and flow of New York’s own Dev, who delivers a sharp message pointed at all the people who don’t believe in the grind. Specifically he’s taking shots at the naysayers along the way who try to play you but then want to jump on the bandwagon when you’re hot. Pulling from life experiences, Dev works security at a high-end luxury hotel and nightclub in the off hours between work on a solo album and a collaborative project with writing partner Nick Hews.
While currently in Venice, California, Nick Hews met Dev in New York when both artists were living in Brooklyn, back in 2013. A year later they began writing together and the following year they finalized Done That, in Lounge Studios with a recording on March 15, 2015 under engineer Joseph Angol. From then till now Nick Hews moved out to Los Angeles and then Kuwait, before settling in Venice. Working bicoastal, the future Dev and Hews worked with Mikaelin ‘Blue’ BlueSpruce (Solange) to mix and master the first collaborative release, with future solo and collaborative records coming down the pipes in 2018.

Born in 1990, and at the age of twenty, Mame left Japan in order to pursue his dream and went to study at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York. During that time his father became ill. Upon the worsening of his father’s condition, Mame returned home to help take care of him and his family.
“Life was in extremes, up and down when I was pursuing a career as a fashion designer. I was emotionally fucked up, living alone, and trying to reach where I thought I wanted to go. Life wasn't easy, then I turned back to my country because of my father's illness. At that moment, I definitely hit the rock bottom leaving everything in New York, I had to start a new life. That was hard, and by taking the hard times as lessons, I kept going. That's how I felt when I could be on next level.
The experience made me realize my true passion and deeper dream in music and entertainment. Since then, I have transitioned from fashion designer to artist and have been working on lyrics and production, combining Tokyo flows with New York sounds in collaboration with super producer Dj Journey / Trip Digital Inc. Kris Payne - W.O.P is the first studio single of a series, in collaboration with Trip Digital founder Dj Journey and executive production duo Sweet Chuck Ravin Dave (S.C.R.D.). The club and car bumping single features a catchy vocal hook, sax lick and beat produced by Anthony “Tone T1” Fenner. Arranged into four verses of heat, the first of which will arguably rival a young Busta Rhymes or Twista, all three versions (Clean, Explicit and Instrumental) give djs and remixers all the the tools needed to slice, dice or sample this hot summer jam.

Kris Payne is not your average rapper. His flow and lyrics will take you back in time, while his smooth, raw vocal delivery is poetic and wistfully visual. Kris often draws comparisons to the likes of the Notorious BIG, LL Cool J and Dr. Dre, which considering his childhood upbringing, and being a Leo with the same birthday as Chuck D and Professor Griff, may be an indication. Payne grew up in Brooklyn, and then moved out to Baldwin, Long Island for high school.
Kris worked his way into regular rotation on BET’s 106 & Park and then found himself in a cipher with Run DMC. Payne drew the attention of Public Enemy’s Chuck D and The Bomb Squad super producer Keith Shocklee, both local Roosevelt, Long Island natives. Kris invested the past five years into building trust, which led to his mentorship from Hip Hop legends and eventually projects with Common and Rakim. Most importantly, Kris made the transition from playground battle rapper to recording artist now is now poised to set the stage on fire.
