The vinyl jacket was printed on 300 gsm art matte paper and the typography on the cover and insert feature a spot UV gloss finish. Click images above / below or here to purchase.

On Tuesday, April 11th, Bella Saona launched her debut album Parousia and hosted her release at Beautique, next to the Park Plaza Hotel, in New York City. The album release party featured DJs DaLyte, Ravin Dave and Romain NYC; and a special live performance by Bella Saona and Victor Lau, enshrouded by lighting and visuals by Sima Visualhh. Attendees included over 150 family, friends, fans and influencers from across New York City.

Bella Saona is a singer / songwriter who wears her heart on her sleeve in everyone of her songs. Her infusion of soul into electronically driven dance music is a delicate mix of vocal melodies interwoven with intstrumental phrases that take the listener down an emotional path.

Just like her album, Bella's live show is an emotional multi-sense experience, brought to life from inside a mesh cube. Along with co-producer and creative director Victor Lau, Bella and the Beast unleash an audio visual performance that brings the audience inside the song, and into their world.

Parousia can be purchased in Limited Edition (LP) Vinyl here or Digitally at over 150 global online retailers including iTunes, Amazon and MySpace. A limited number of signed copies may be available in the future.

Trip Digital Radio - Sound, Art, Expression (Weekly Mix Show)

Los Angeles, California - Trip Digital Radio is now officially 2 hours long each week. Reaching over 85,000 active listeners via Native Rhymes station on DashRadio.com. Local Los Angeles and New York City listeners are so engaged in the platform and show, that over 50% of the weekly show listeners, are tuned-in for an average of 30-60 mins every show.

If you think about it and break down the numbers, that's well over 1,000,000 hours of music listened to over the year. For an independent start-up label, that's not bad reach to start.

The weekly show is hosted and produced by Trip Digital Inc., founder Dj Journey. Along with Seattle born and currently New York based DJ Dcoded, the two tag-team weekly sets and segments that primarily feature new independent and upcoming artists, mixed in along with already made artists across generations and genres.

The show is rooted in Hip Hop, and because of Hip Hop's roots, Dj Journey and Dj Dcoded delightfully dance across grooves, "keeping it moving" and devoting nearly 80% of the show spins to the Campfire Crew, a team of east coast, west coast and worldwide artists that collaborate with Trip Digital.

Tune-in each week by logging on to DashRadio.com / or download via iTunes App Store or the Google Play Android Store and listening to Native Rhymes station every Wednesday from 7:00 - 9:00 PM PST / 10:00 PM - 12:00 AM EST.

Fashion Week Takes on Homelessness with Christina Milian, JWoww and Bravolebs.

Fashion Week Takes on Homelessness with Christina Milian, JWoww and Bravolebs.

BY HILARY GEORGE-PARKIN  FEB 10, 2017, 2:32PM EST

"A key part of the campaign, the hashtag #ItCanBeYou, is supposed to convey the idea that under different circumstances, anyone could be homeless. “I think a lot of people that are fortunate — that have support, have friends, have family — they don’t understand that a lot of times, homelessness isn’t an option, it’s a life circumstance that takes them that way,” says Guimaraes. “When you get really far down and you have no one to pick you back up, it’s hard to get back up on your own. It’s really to get people to be more compassionate.”

While they may not be walking the runway, a handful of people in attendance do have some personal experience with homelessness, including two of the night’s performers: Lucas Asher, the lead singer of the band Faulkner, and a Brooklyn rapper named Young MG.

Asher and the band Faulkner, who performed at the event.

Asher and the band Faulkner, who performed at the event.

Asher, who spent time on the streets of New York in his youth, doesn’t dwell on the negatives of his past. “I think it could happen to anybody, that's true,” he says. “But if you look at everybody here celebrating, it's not about how bad it is, it's about what's possible, so I tend to look at it in an aspirational way.” Today, he splits his time between his hometown and Venice, California, and last year his band released an EP produced by Wu Tang Clan’s RZA.

Young MG’s struggles aren’t quite behind him yet; I talk to him at the end of the night, after the last performer has packed up and the DJ is entreating the dwindling crowd to dance to a steady stream of Chris Brown and Bruno Mars. He wears a yellow hoodie and sweatpants and a backwards Yankees fitted. “I pulled up to show some love for the homeless people, because I too went through the homelessness and I'm still facing it,” he says.

“I have felonies, I'm a project kid, I've lived a hard life,” he explains, about three inches from my ear so I can hear over the music. “It's not my fault, it's the cards that I was dealt. But if you don't have a job, then it's hard to take care of yourself, to provide, to live your dreams. Everything costs money, and nobody's going to give it to you. You have to pay to get your way up, and then people will help you up.” At some point, I realize it’s the first story of homelessness I’ve heard all night. A minute later, though, he’s moved on. “Look me up on Facebook,” he says, and when I do, I see a few dozen photos and videos from the night — selfies, videos, shot after shot of Milian, and the requisite red carpet photos, though this time, without a cardboard sign in sight."

S.C.R.D. was proud to sponsor Young MG and The NYLON Project. Sweet Chuck closed out the event with a live performance of his soon to release, new single titled, "Art Bless America." This live performance featured professional dancers Dre and King Soup from Los Angeles, choreographed by King Shaw.  If you missed these two performances you're in luck, and can catch them again, along with the rest of the Campfire Crew in April, on Thursday the 20th, from 7:00 - 9:00 PM at the Delancey, located at 168 Delancey Street, Manhattan, New York.

The NYLON Project & Aspiring Artists

Through adversity and struggle, while growing up young in the streets of Brooklyn, YOUNG MG, has developed the raw charisma, character and fortitude to survive. He has also become what's known in Hip Hop culture as the ever elusive "wordsmith," one who is a verbal poet, and know's it. But these days in the city who birthed the original art and culture, the sound is hard to find. Fortunately, meet YOUNG MG, one of few local and talented artists, on verge of bringing the "true" New York Hip Hop sound back.

“I’m a Brooklyn kid that got kicked out at a young age, forced to take on the streets for survival. My mother put me out at the age of twelve to face a hard life. I tried to go from home to home to escape a life of poverty. Just trying to come up, through the streets, I’ve been to jail, homeless, sleeping on trains and subways. I know have a bright future, with better things coming my way. I’m on the verge of making it really big. #itcanbeyou

“As an artist, I understand sacrifice, passion and commitment to the arts and commerce. In my short eight years living in New York City, I’ve also come to understand being evicted, sued, frisked, fined, fired and kicked-out. But that's really nothing compared to what many artist before or during my time endured. Therefore my overstanding not through living, is just an understanding, which can only be told through the stories of those who came before me and whom I am currently living among. Just like living in New York City, nothing ever is, what it really is, until you have lived it, and actually been there in it. In the end, I just make make music, and like to help others do the same. The summer block party led to a collaboration, and then we recorded the first record. #itcanbeyou"

The initial goal of this project is to give out 1,500 meals starting on December 1st, 2016 up until February 7th, 2017. Each person who receives a meal, will tell us their story of how they wound up on the streets and this will be shared via an IG page which will entice everyone who gives a meal to start sharing their stories with us and with this, creating a community of people helping people.

The NYLON Project will culminate with a New York Fashion Week show on February 7th, 2017, where the 25 influencers and celebrities who were part of the photo-shoot for booklet, will walk the runway side by side with their sponsored homeless partners whose story they shared, wearing sponsored brands. These brands will dress the celebrity as well as gift the homeless the ensemble so that they can use it once event is over, to go on a job interview and get off the streets.

Celebrities, Influencers and a showcase for performing talent including the musical group FAULKNER, with over 2 million youtube hits on their most recent release; Che'Nelle, Japan iTunes 10 straight weeks #1 performing artist; Grandison M. Phelps IV, dancer and choreographer for Mariah Carey, Alicia Keys, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, JLo, Che'Nelle, with a special performance. Trip Digital Inc., artist S.C.R.D., Sweet Chuck & Ravin Dave, will host and perform, along with a Special Guests in order to support the cause and YOUNG MG in his debut live performance of  "Cold Days Hard Nightsfrom a forthcoming debut mixtape, expected to drop Spring 2017.  This song encapsulates his story of being raised on the streets, becoming a wordsmith, and eventually making the break from the hood to the main stage. Your support can help make dreams become a reality through #theNylonProject1

SOUL FREQUENCY

Presented by Keith Shocklee and Dj Journey powered by Spectrum City

Soul Frequency (Ravin Dave's bday)

In the fall of 2015, a management change at one of New York City’s most exclusive private member’s club resulted in a new perspective on how to reinvigorate an empty space through building an “alternate” vibe in order to freshen up the environment.

SOUL FREQUENCY, a monthly party presented by the legendary Keith Shocklee (aka. Wizard Kjee) of Public Enemy, The Bomb Squad and Spectrum City; along with Super producer Dj Journey, founder of Trip Digital Inc., and a well-known DJ across the LA and NYC circuit; the duo were invited to rebuild the room with a monthly residency. The party launched last November and is now becoming an industry and newbie playground for intermingling between members, guests and artists.

In other words, a very well know establishment was looking for a change. Think, “Stella got her groove back” or rather, looking to get her groove back, and turned to one of New York City’s own cultural contribution – Hip Hop.

soulfreq-combined.jpg

The concept was to begin building a unique, intimate, fun and inclusive party that brought plenty of groove, vibe and old skool classic tracks in an upbeat, contemporary and cutting edge way.

The goal is to create a fun, warm and inclusive monthly party that can be used to introduce, integrate and infuse aspects of live performance with the old skool vibe in order to create a fun party for emerging talent to perform and be discovered.
